Kapeke is a rapper from Uganda. His official YouTube channel, which uses the handle @badboykapeke, describes him as a young Ugandan rapper and carries the name NBG, short for “No Belt Gang”. Most of his releases on streaming services carry an NBG copyright line. His name appears in capitals, KAPEKE, on Spotify and Apple Music.
His 2025 single “Simanyi” appeared as a Breakout search in Uganda in our September 2026 research. Earlier in 2026, Galaxy FM’s Zzina Awards 2025–2026 named him Artist of the Year, Best Male Artist and Best LugaFlow/Rap Artist, and gave his single “Kaba” the awards for Song of the Year and Best LugaFlow/Rap Song.
Career overview
Kapeke’s releases on Apple Music and Spotify go back to “Tokisusa”, featuring Eddy Wizzy, in 2021. In 2023 he released the four-track Vision2024 EP. The singles that followed include “Swiririri” with Rickman Manrick, “Shuu”, which was later remixed with Fik Fameica, “Akasanyalaze” and “Polokoto” (all 2024).
In 2025 he released “Setting”, featuring Karole Kasita, “Kaba” in May and “Simanyi” on 31 October. Apple Music files most of his catalogue under Hip-Hop/Rap, but lists “Simanyi” under Modern Dancehall. He is also credited on other artists’ songs, including Feffe Bussi’s “Nzalina” (2025) alongside Winnie Nwagi, Spice Diana and Dax Vibez. His 2026 releases include “Gundi II” with Mimi Kampala, “London” and “A.K”.
