“Simanyi” is a single by Kapeke, a rapper from Uganda whose official YouTube handle is @badboykapeke. Released at the end of October 2025, it later showed up as a Breakout search term in Uganda. This spotlight gathers the verified facts about the release and points you to official places to hear it.

Who is Kapeke?
Kapeke’s official YouTube channel, which uses the handle @badboykapeke, describes him as a young Ugandan rapper. The channel also carries the name NBG, short for “No Belt Gang”, and most of his releases carry an NBG rights line. His real name is not given on the channel, so we do not state it.
His releases on streaming services go back to December 2021, and they include the 2023 EP Vision2024 and a run of singles since. You can read more on our Kapeke artist page.
The awards
He is not an unknown name in Uganda. Galaxy FM, a radio station in Kampala, runs its own annual Zzina Awards, and in the winners it published on 12 February 2026 for the Zzina Awards 2025–2026 Kapeke took Artist of the Year, Best Male Artist and Best LugaFlow/Rap Artist. His earlier 2025 single “Kaba” won Song of the Year and Best LugaFlow/Rap Song. Lugaflow is the name used in Uganda for rap in Luganda.
“Simanyi” itself does not appear anywhere in the nominee list Galaxy FM published on 21 January 2026. These are one radio station’s own awards, voted for on its website, rather than an industry-wide prize.
About the title
“Simanyi” is a Luganda title. No official explanation of it has been published, and we have not found a reliable source that explains what it means in this song, so we are not offering a translation here. We will add one if the artist or a reliable source explains it.
Why people are searching for it
In September 2026 we studied Google Trends data for the previous 12 months, looking at the related queries that appear alongside searches for MP3 and audio downloads in each country. Most of the Ugandan related queries took the form “song by artist mp3 download”. In Uganda, “Simanyi” was recorded as a Breakout related query.
Google Trends uses the Breakout label when a related search grows by more than 5,000% over the chosen period, usually because very few people searched for it at the start. It measures how fast interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and it says nothing about how good a song is.
Outside chord sites and streaming listings, we found no editorial coverage of “Simanyi” itself. Many of the download searches lead to sites that host music without the artist’s permission. We do not link to them. The official options are listed below.
Where it fits in the catalogue
Apple Music files most of Kapeke’s catalogue under Hip-Hop/Rap, but lists “Simanyi” under Modern Dancehall. It followed “Setting”, featuring Karole Kasita (January 2025), and “Kaba” (May 2025). A month later he appeared on Feffe Bussi’s “Nzalina” alongside Winnie Nwagi, Spice Diana and Dax Vibez. His 2026 releases include “Gundi II”, “London” and “A.K”.
