Who is Kolaboy?
Kolaboy’s official YouTube channel describes him as a singer-songwriter and rapper from Enugu State and a cultural activist who champions Igbo heritage. He has been releasing music since at least 2018, when his single “They Didn’t Caught Me” featuring Harrysong came out. Evado’s releases on Apple Music go back to 2021, most of them filed under Hip-Hop/Rap. He is a frequent collaborator on other artists’ singles, and on 17 October 2025, eight days after “Oga Eme”, he released “ILU AGHA” with Phyno.
Kolaboy is not a newcomer, but we found no national editorial coverage of him or of this song. That is why we include him in this series.

We have not found an explanation or translation of the title “Oga Eme” from the artists or from any reliable source, so we are not offering one. No official explanation of the title was found.
Why people are searching for it
In September 2026 we studied Google Trends data for the previous 12 months, looking at the related queries that appear alongside searches for MP3 and audio downloads in each country, as set out in our West Africa search-trends roundup. In Nigeria, the related query “oga eme” by Kolaboy appeared in the Music data. It was not recorded with a Breakout label or a percentage rise.
Google Trends reserves the Breakout label for a related search that grows by more than 5,000% over the chosen period, usually because very few people searched for it at the start. Labels and percentages like that measure how fast interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and they say nothing about how good a song is.
