Who is Morgan Nero?
On his official YouTube channel, Morgan Nero describes himself as a Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats recording artist, songwriter and performer, known for blending Ewe culture with modern African sounds. His Audiomack profile gives his location as Volta, Ghana.
His catalogue on Apple Music goes back to 2021, when he featured on Greatman Zillions’ single “Sugar”. Since then he has released a steady stream of his own singles, including “Melikpoo” (2024), “Kinka” featuring Keeny Ice (March 2025) and “Amenakpor” (June 2025). He is also a frequent guest on other artists’ songs: Apple Music lists a dozen singles by other acts that feature him, including releases by Edem, Artisco KG and JJ Gonami.

The award
On 2 May 2026, Volta Today reported that Morgan Nero had been named Unsung Artiste of the Year at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2026. It described him as a fast-rising artiste and credited “Agbozume Naomi” with building his following across the Volta Region and beyond.
The main ceremony, the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, took place on 9 May 2026 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre. Graphic Online’s report on the winners confirmed the award and noted that Morgan Nero also performed on the night. His own channel describes the award as recognising him as one of Ghana’s most promising emerging artists.
About the title
Agbozume is a town in the Ketu Municipal District of Ghana’s Volta Region, known for a large market held every four days that is popular for the sale of kente cloth. Morgan Nero has not published an explanation of the title “Agbozume Naomi”, and we have not confirmed which language or languages the song is sung in, so we are not offering an interpretation.

In September 2026 we studied Google Trends data for the previous 12 months, looking at the related queries that appear alongside searches for MP3 downloads in each country, as set out in our West Africa search-trends roundup. In Ghana, “agbozume naomi mp3 download” appeared as a Breakout query in the Music category.
Google Trends uses the Breakout label when a related search grows by more than 5,000% over the chosen period, usually because very few people searched for it at the start. It measures how fast interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and it says nothing about how good a song is.
