Who is behind it

Ghana’s state broadcaster, GBC, described Fahim Dumba as a Ghanaian content creator in an interview piece published on 1 September 2025. In it he talked about consistency, passion and originality in content creation. Apple Music credits him as one of the song’s two lead vocalists and as one of its three songwriters.

“ASANA” is the only release on Mr Blayy’s Apple Music artist page, and his Audiomack profile was set up in the month the song came out. We have not found reputable press coverage of Mr Blayy himself, so we are not adding biographical details. You can read more on our Mr Blayy artist page.

One thing worth saying plainly: Mr Blayy has no artist-run YouTube channel that we could find. The song’s only presence on YouTube is an auto-generated “Topic” channel. Those pages are created automatically by YouTube from the audio a distributor delivers, rather than being set up and run by the artist, so there is no official music video and no channel description to quote.

About the title

Neither artist has published a translation or explanation of the title “ASANA”, and we found no official explanation from any reliable source, so we are not offering one.

Why people are searching for it

In September 2026 we studied Google Trends data for the previous 12 months, looking at the related queries that appear alongside searches for MP3 and audio downloads in each country, as set out in our West Africa search-trends roundup. In Ghana, the related query “asana” showed a rise of 3,250%.

Google Trends uses a percentage like this to show how much interest in a related query grew over the chosen period. Above 5,000% it swaps the number for the label “Breakout” instead, so this rise sat below that threshold. Either way, the figure measures how fast interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and it says nothing about how good a song is. A very large rise usually just means that few people searched for the phrase to begin with.

Because “asana” is also a common word for a yoga posture, some of that search interest may have nothing to do with this song. We have not been able to separate the two.

We found no editorial coverage of the song. Many search results for it point to unofficial download sites. We do not link to them. The official options are listed below.

Where it fits in the catalogue

“ASANA” is Mr Blayy’s first and, so far, only release on the major streaming services, so there is no back catalogue to place it against yet. Apple Music files it under Afrobeats and lists Soundscope on the rights line.
