Who is Da Agent?

On his official YouTube channel, Da Agent gives his name as Ivan Wabwire and says he started his professional music career in 2016. The channel names his rap style “Lugaflo Lufula”. Lugaflow is the name used in Uganda for rap in Luganda.

His earliest releases sit on an older Apple Music profile under the name Da Agent, including the 2017 album Akadodi. Since September 2023 he has released a steady run of singles as Da Agent Official, nearly all of them carrying a TOKOPA FORCE rights line. You can read more on our Da Agent artist page.

About the title

“Baliwa” is a Luganda title. No official explanation of it has been published, and we have not found a reliable source that explains what it means in this song, so we are not offering a translation.

It is also a common song title in Uganda: Apple Music lists songs called “Baliwa” by several other artists, including Jose Chameleone. If you are searching for Da Agent’s song, add his name.

Why people are searching for it

In September 2026 we studied Google Trends data for the previous 12 months, looking at the related queries that appear alongside searches for MP3 and audio downloads in each country. Most of the Ugandan related queries took the form “song by artist mp3 download”. The query we recorded here was “Baliwa”, and in Uganda it rose by about 850–950% over the period.

That figure is a relative change, not a count of people. A song that starts from very few searches can post a large percentage. Google Trends reserves its Breakout label for a related query that grows by more than 5,000% over the chosen period, so “Baliwa” sits well below that mark. Either way, the figure measures how fast interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and it says nothing about how good a song is.

The award nominations

Galaxy FM, a radio station in Kampala, runs its own annual Zzina Awards. In the nominee list it published on 21 January 2026 for the Zzina Awards 2025–2026, “Baliwa” appeared in two categories, Best LugaFlow/Rap Song and Song of the Year, and Da Agent was nominated for Best LugaFlow/Rap Artist. His single “One Day” was also nominated for Best Inspirational Song, and GZ Beats, the producer credited on “Baliwa”, was among the Best Producer nominees.

The winners Galaxy FM published on 12 February 2026 do not include Da Agent in any category: Best LugaFlow/Rap Song and Song of the Year both went to Kapeke’s “Kaba”, and Best LugaFlow/Rap Artist to Kapeke. These are one radio station’s own awards, voted for on its website, rather than an industry-wide prize.

Where it fits in the catalogue

“Baliwa” followed the 2025 singles “NGALO NGALO” (April) and “One Day” (July), and an a cappella version of it appeared on 22 August 2025, six days after the original. He kept releasing singles afterwards, including “ZAMBELE” with IDC Music (October 2025), “DIPO” and “Evumbe” (both November 2025) and “Njukunju” (February 2026), which was followed in April 2026 by a remix featuring Mun G and Nutty Neithan. In June 2026 several earlier singles, including “Baliwa”, were reissued with a rights line crediting distribution by UgaTunes.
