Who is behind it
On his official YouTube channel, Da Agent gives his name as Ivan Wabwire and says he started his professional music career in 2016. The channel names his rap style “Lugaflo Lufula”. Lugaflow is the name used in Uganda for rap in Luganda. His earliest releases are on an older Apple Music profile under the name Da Agent, including the 2017 album Akadodi. Since 2023 he has released a steady run of singles as Da Agent Official. You can read more on our Da Agent artist page.
What the title means
“Baliwa” is a Luganda title. We have not found a reliable source that explains what it means in this song, so we are not offering a translation. It is also a common song title in Uganda: Apple Music lists songs called “Baliwa” by several other artists, including Jose Chameleone. If you are searching for Da Agent’s song, add his name.
Why people are searching for it
In our September 2026 research we looked at Google Trends data for Uganda over the past 12 months, focusing on the related queries that appear alongside searches for MP3 and audio downloads. Many of the Ugandan queries took the form “song by artist mp3 download”. Searches for “Baliwa” by Da Agent rose by about 850–950% over that period.
That figure is a relative change, not a count of people. A song that starts from very few searches can post a large percentage. It tells you that interest grew quickly, not how many people searched in total, how often the song was streamed, or what it sounds like.
The song has had some recognition beyond search data. Galaxy FM, the Kampala radio station, listed “Baliwa” among the nominees for Best LugaFlow/Rap Song and Song of the Year at its Zzina Awards 2025–2026, and nominated Da Agent for Best LugaFlow/Rap Artist. It did not win in those categories.
Many of the download searches lead to sites that host music without the artist’s permission. We do not link to them. The official options are listed below.
Where it fits in the catalogue
“Baliwa” followed the 2025 singles “NGALO NGALO” and “One Day”, and like most of Da Agent’s recent work it carries a TOKOPA FORCE credit. He kept releasing singles afterwards, including “Evumbe” in November 2025 and “Njukunju” in February 2026, which was followed by a remix featuring Mun G and Nutty Neithan. In mid-2026 several earlier singles, including “Baliwa”, were also reissued through UgaTunes. If you want to hear the song in context, go back to “Tewepima Nange” from 2024.
