Spotlight: Vyroota’s “Kunsi”
“Kunsi” is a single by Vyroota, a singer, songwriter and producer from Uganda. Released in December 2025, it later became a Breakout search in Uganda. This spotlight gathers the verified facts about the release and points you to official places to hear it.

Who is Vyroota?
Vyroota’s official YouTube channel describes him as a musician, songwriter and producer, born and bred in Uganda. It says his music blends R&B and Afro-pop and that he often sings in a mix of Luganda and English, and it names “Ndibulungi” and “Risk” as the songs that first built his following.
His streaming catalogue begins in April 2022 with “Ndibulungi” and “Love Me Too”, followed by a four-track EP, Where We Are, in January 2023. He has also worked with other Ugandan artists, appearing on Nandor Love’s “Gukuba” (2023) and Spice Diana’s “Nze Nakiriza” (2025). You can read more on our Vyroota artist page.
About the title
We have found no official explanation or translation of the title “Kunsi” from the artist, so we are not offering one.
Why people are searching for it
In September 2026 we studied Google Trends data for the previous 12 months, looking at the related queries that appear alongside searches for MP3 and audio downloads in each country. The Ugandan data was made up mostly of queries in the form “<song> by <artist> mp3 download”, and in Uganda “Kunsi” by Vyroota was recorded as a Breakout related query.
Google Trends uses the Breakout label when a related search grows by more than 5,000% over the chosen period, usually because very few people searched for it at the start. It measures how fast interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and it says nothing about how good a song is.
The song has also had some press attention: on 29 May 2026 Sqoop, a Ugandan entertainment news site, ran an article about it by Isaac Ssejjombwe. The official music video on Vyroota’s YouTube channel showed about 11.2 million views when we checked on 22 September 2026.
Many search results for the song point to unofficial download sites, which host music without the artist’s permission. We do not link to them. The official options are listed below.
Where it fits in the catalogue
“Kunsi” came after a run of 2025 singles: “Tanimba” in February, “Angonza” in June and “Todanga” in September. Like “Kunsi”, those releases credit Vyroota himself, with distribution by Kelele Digital or ONErpm, rather than an outside label. In 2026 he released “Toma” with Nessim in April and “Calm Down” in August. For an earlier, longer release, there is the 2023 EP Where We Are.
