Spotlight: “Botshelo Ke Eng” by Trechyson Molly vx, DJ Promatic SA and Dendofela

“Botshelo Ke Eng” is a single by the South African producer and DJ Trechyson Molly vx, credited with DJ Promatic SA and Dendofela. It came out on 13 February 2026 and later became a Breakout search in Botswana and Namibia — two countries the act is not from. This spotlight gathers the verified facts about the release, the credits, and where to hear it officially.

The credits do not say who performs which part, so we are not guessing at that. Nhlanhla Tshaya, one of the two credited producers, also holds the rights line on the earliest Trechyson Molly vx release in Apple Music’s catalogue, the January 2023 single “Wish Me Well”.

Who is behind it

Trechyson Molly vx’s official YouTube channel describes the act in four words and a flag: “Music Producer & DJ 🇿🇦”. That South African flag is the clearest statement of nationality we have from the artist. Apple Music files him under Amapiano, and most of his earlier releases there are filed under Amapiano or Dance. You can read more on our Trechyson Molly vx artist page.

From 2023 to late 2025, almost every Trechyson Molly vx release on Apple Music carried a Top Floor Records rights line, on its own or alongside Sixxtune Africa. Top Floor Records’ YouTube channel describes itself as “an independent South African label building artists with structure, discipline and long-term vision”. “Botshelo Ke Eng” is the first of his releases on Apple Music to carry a Hit Music Money rights line instead — although Top Floor Records’ channel still published the official audio and the lyric video.

DJ Promatic SA is a regular collaborator. The two share credits on several earlier singles, including “Dumelang Metswalle Yaka (Remake)” and “Mpogo” (October 2024), “Chaba Dia Fela” (November 2024), “Makhwapheni” (May 2025) and “Thatha Dali” (June 2025). Dendofela is credited as the third artist on this single, and we found no earlier release with him on it.

About the title

We have not found an official explanation or translation of “Botshelo Ke Eng” from the artists, and we are not offering one of our own. Translations circulating on download and lyrics sites are not sources we use.

What can be said is that the phrase is associated with Setswana, an official language in both Botswana and South Africa that is also spoken in parts of Namibia. That happens to fit both where the record was made and where it trended, but it is not a translation, and we have not confirmed which language the song is sung in.

Why people are searching for it

In our September 2026 research we looked at Google Trends data for the past 12 months, focusing on the related queries that appear alongside download-related searches in each country: “mp3” in the Music category, plus “mp3 download”, “download mp3” and “audio download”. “Botshelo Ke Eng” appeared as a Breakout query in both Botswana and Namibia.

Breakout is the label Google Trends prints instead of a percentage when a related query’s search interest grows by more than 5,000% over the chosen period. It usually means that very few people searched for the phrase at the start. It tells you how quickly interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and it is no guide to what the song sounds like or how good it is.

It is worth being precise about the geography, because it is easy to misread. The act is South African; the two countries where the search interest spiked are its neighbours, Botswana and Namibia. A song can travel across a border faster than it climbs at home, and the Trends data says nothing about how the song performed in South Africa itself. We make no claims about streams, sales or chart positions anywhere.

If you search for the title, be aware that Apple Music now lists a long run of other releases called “Botshelo Ke Eng” by different acts, starting about six weeks after the original: MusicaAfrika on 23 March 2026, then Lekompo, Gqom and RnB-labelled versions from Blessing Rsa’s MusiQ, Woniemusicsa, Concar Rsa, De Ultimate and others through the middle of the year. The release this spotlight covers is the one credited to Trechyson Molly vx, DJ Promatic SA and Dendofela and dated 13 February 2026.

Where it fits in the catalogue

“Botshelo Ke Eng” followed Impilo yo Mjita, a seven-track release dated 10 October 2025 and made largely with Lah’Vee, who is credited on five of its tracks, and DJ Promatic SA, who is credited on two.

Since then, Trechyson Molly vx has stayed on the Hit Music Money rights line. On 1 May 2026 a follow-up, “Botshelo Ke Eng 2.0”, came out, credited to Trechyson Molly vx, Jinger Stone and MaWhoo. “Ka Di Weekend” with Jinger Stone followed on 19 June 2026.

Behind those releases sits a long list of collaborations. Apple Music credits him on more than thirty releases since January 2023, most of them with Lah’Vee, Droatest, Da Leech, DJ Promatic SA or YahYah, including the four-track ISIBUSISO EP in April 2024.
