One thing the credits do not include: JC Kalinks, despite the feature billing on the title, does not appear in Apple Music’s performer list for the song. We do not know why, and we are not guessing at who performs which part.

Who is 76 Drums?

On his official website, 76 Drums describes himself as an award-winning Zambian rapper, songwriter and producer from Lusaka, known for fusing traditional Zambian sounds — especially Kalindula and Zamrock — with hip-hop, Afro-soul, drill and amapiano. The same page says his music explores resilience, ambition, struggle and success, and names “Big Machines”, “Go Getta”, “Keep Fighting” and “Ku Buchi” among the tracks that established him. That is his own description of his work; nobody here has listened closely enough to comment on it, and we have not identified which award the site refers to.

His Audiomack profile gives his location as Lusaka, Zambia and names Holy Mountain Music as his label. Apple Music’s data supports that connection: several of his 2023 singles, including “Press Briefing” and “Ku Buchi”, carry a ℗ 2023 Holy Mountain rights line. “Beauty Station” itself carries a 76 Drums / ONErpm line instead. ONErpm is a distribution company that delivers independent releases to streaming services.

JC Kalinks is credited as the featured artist. We could not find an official profile for him — Apple Music alone carries three separate artist entries under the spellings “Jc Kalinks”, “JC Kalinks” and “J C Kalinks” — so we are limiting ourselves to the credit as it appears on the single.

About the title

Neither 76 Drums nor his label has published an explanation of the title “Beauty Station”, and we have not found one in a reliable source, so we are not offering an interpretation. The only extra detail we can confirm is that the official video adds a parenthetical: it is titled “Beauty Station (WOW)”.

Why people are searching for it

In September 2026 we studied Google Trends data for the previous 12 months, looking at the related queries that appear alongside download-related searches in each country: “mp3” in the Music category, plus “mp3 download”, “download mp3” and “audio download”. In Zambia, the rising related query “beauty station” was up by about 4,550%.

That figure sits just under the threshold at which Google Trends stops printing a percentage and prints the word Breakout instead — it uses that label when a related search grows by more than 5,000% over the chosen period, usually because very few people searched for it at the start. Either way the number is a relative change, not a count of people, so a song starting from almost no searches can post a very large percentage. It measures how fast interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and it says nothing about how good a song is.

Where it fits in the catalogue

Apple Music’s catalogue for 76 Drums starts with the single “Am Running” in May 2023, followed by a run of Holy Mountain releases the same year and “Big Machines” that December. The nine-track album Fall 6 Times Rise 7 Times arrived on 6 December 2024; Apple Music also carries a second listing of the same nine tracks under the longer title When you Fall 6 Times, Rise 7 Times.

The pace picked up in 2026. “Ipalo”, featuring Kanina Kandalama, came out in January, followed by the five-track Fastlane EP on 12 April. “Beauty Station” arrived in July, and the next single, “40 Ng’ombe” featuring Chanda na Kay and SHANGA love, followed on 11 September 2026. Both of those last two carry the 76 Drums / ONErpm rights line.

Collaboration runs through all of it. Apple Music lists him as a featured artist on more than a dozen other acts’ singles, and Audiomack dates Slap Dee’s “Jahman Juice (feat. 76 Drums)”, from the album Black Na White 3, to 11 July 2025.
