Who is behind it
An-Known’s official YouTube channel lists Uganda as its country and introduces the artist as “Anknown Prosper [DICEY]”. That explains the different names you will see. Streaming services credit the music to An-Known, the official lyrics video for “Binji” uses An-known Dicey, and the Instagram account linked from the channel uses Anknown Prosper.
The artist’s releases on Apple Music go back to 2020. The early singles carry an FC Recordz credit. Since late 2024 most carry a Dicey Records credit, which matches the “Dicey” in the artist’s billing. You can read more on our An-Known artist page.
About the title
We have not found an official translation or explanation of the title “Binji” from the artist, and we are not guessing at one. The title is also used by several unrelated songs from other East African artists, so check the artist credit when you search for it.
Why people are searching for it
In our September 2026 research we looked at Google Trends data for the past 12 months, focusing on the related queries that appear alongside searches for MP3 and audio downloads. In Uganda, searches for “Binji” by An-Known appeared as a rising related query, with growth of between +4,050% and +4,650% in the searches we checked.
That is a large rise, but it is not the “Breakout” label Google Trends uses for growth of more than 5,000%. Figures like these usually start from a low base. They show how quickly interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and they say nothing about what the song sounds like or how good it is.
Many of those searches lead to download sites that host music without the artist’s permission. We do not link to them. The official options are listed below.
Where it fits in the catalogue
“Binji” followed “Adam” (November 2024), the first An-Known single with a Dicey Records credit, and a guest appearance on “Mpeke” (2025), credited to Aroma Music and An-Known. In December 2025 Apple Music lists a single called “Bingi (Acoustic)”, and in May 2026 An-Known released “Know Better”. Earlier singles such as “Radio Call.9” (2021) and “Magician” (2023) show where the catalogue started.
