Who is Chibwe Chabala?

On his official YouTube channel, Chibwe Chabala Official, he describes himself as “a gospel Minister by the grace of God, a worshiper, and pastor”, alongside a reference to Romans 8 and two contact numbers with Zambia’s +260 dialling code. On that channel the song appears as “CHIBWE C – LESA TANGILA”, while Spotify and Apple Music list it under his full name. If you are searching for it, either name should find the same song.

The channel goes back further than his streaming catalogue does. Its oldest uploads, “Mwe Lesa”, “Search My Heart (master)” and “What a Mighty God”, were all published in May 2019.

About the title

We have not found a reliable translation of “Lesa Tangila”, and we have not confirmed from any official source which language the song is in, so we are not offering either. Translations circulating on download and lyrics sites are not sources we use.

The one pattern worth noting, without reading anything into it, is that the word “Lesa” recurs across his uploads: the channel also carries “Mwe Lesa”, from 2019.

Why people are searching for it

In September 2026 we studied Google Trends data for the previous 12 months, looking at the related queries that appear alongside download-related searches in each country: “mp3” in the Music category, plus “mp3 download”, “download mp3” and “audio download”. In Zambia, “lesa tangila” appeared as a Breakout related query.

Google Trends uses the Breakout label instead of a percentage when a related search grows by more than 5,000% over the chosen period, which usually means there were very few searches for it before. It measures how fast interest grew, not how many searches there were in total, and it says nothing about how good a song is.

There is a large audience behind that signal. The video “CHIBWE C – LESA TANGILA” on his own channel, published on 1 November 2025, showed 2,498,939 views when we checked on 22 September 2026. Beyond download and lyrics sites we found no press coverage of the song, which is part of why we chose to feature it. We make no claims about streams, sales or chart positions.

Where it fits in the catalogue

His streaming catalogue is short. Apple Music and Spotify list two singles under the name CHIBWE CHABALA: “LESA TANGILA” (8 November 2025) and “NAPELA IMWE” (7 April 2026), on which Apple Music credits Jacklyn Musonda as the featured artist. Both carry the same ℗ 10710093 Records DK rights line, the kind of numbered credit that comes from a self-serve distribution service. That makes “Lesa Tangila” his first release on those services.

His YouTube channel goes further. It includes “CHIBWE CHABALA – NAISA LELO” (May 2026) and “CHIBWE & WORLD TOUCH PRAISE TEAM – TUBAKULILE” (July 2025), neither of which was in his streaming discography as of September 2026. The channel also carries an earlier upload titled “lesa Tangila”, published on 8 February 2023 and running about two and a half minutes against the single’s 4:34. We have not compared the two recordings, so we cannot say whether it is an earlier version of the same song or a different one with the same title — only that the title was on his channel long before the 2025 release.
